Our Impact in Bangladesh

We have established tubewells in Bangladesh, which allow for people in the area to drink clean water. One tubewell impacts more than 500 villagers in the area, and everyone relies on it as their source of water. The impact of this single tubewell extends far beyond just providing clean water; it has profound implications for the health and well-being of the children in the village. With access to safe water, children are less susceptible to illnesses caused by contaminated water, such as diarrhea and cholera. This improvement in health means that children are more likely to attend school regularly, as they are not frequently falling ill and missing classes.

Moreover, the availability of clean water has reduced the burden on children, particularly girls, who often have the responsibility of fetching water from distant, unsafe sources. With a reliable tubewell in their village, these children can now devote more time to their studies and other productive activities, rather than spending hours each day collecting water. This shift not only enhances their educational opportunities but also promotes gender equality by freeing up time for girls to focus on their education and personal development.

The presence of the tubewell has also had a positive impact on the overall learning environment in the village. With healthier children who are better able to concentrate and participate in school, the quality of education has improved. Teachers report that students are more attentive and engaged in their lessons, which contributes to better academic performance and a more vibrant school community.
