Impact in India
Our mission to provide quality education to underserved communities has taken us to Ranchi, India, where we have been dedicated to tutoring girls from grades 6 to 12 at Holy Cross. These girls come from families affected by HIV, a situation that has led to their ostracization from society. Through our program, we aim to empower them with the knowledge and skills they need to overcome their challenges and achieve their full potential.
Focused Tutoring in English and Math
For over a year, our team has been tutoring these girls in English and Math, crucial subjects that form the foundation of their academic and professional futures. We conduct two-hour sessions each week, ensuring that the girls receive consistent and comprehensive support in their studies. Our curriculum is designed to build their confidence and competence in these subjects, which are essential for their overall development.
Our commitment to this cause is reflected in the numbers. We have tutored over 30 girls, dedicating more than 200 hours to their education. This consistent effort has made a significant impact on their academic performance and self-esteem. The girls are now more confident in their abilities and more hopeful about their future prospects.
Addressing Social Stigma
In addition to academic tutoring, our program also addresses the social stigma associated with HIV. We create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where the girls can feel safe and valued. This holistic approach helps them to not only improve academically but also to build resilience and a positive self-image.
Educational Care Packages
Our team has also been working with schools in Varanasi to distribute educational care packages to underprivileged students. We have bought over 130 textbooks for 130 kids, enabling each child to have access to their own educational supplies.
